Store Policies and Return Information
Rental and PSEO Materials Return Info
When:
- May 11 - May 15, 2026: 8:00am to 4:00pm,
- May 18 - May 21, 2026: 8:00am to 4:00pm,
- May 22, 2026: 8:00am to 12:00pm (drop offs only at partnership entrance)

What to Bring:
- Your rental or PSEO materials,
- Your Normandale Student ID card or any state ID (driver's license, permit, etc).
- Is someone returning your materials on your behalf? Let them know to have your Normandale TechID number or StarID available to them, as well as their own driver's license or other state ID card. We are unable to check in materials under your account without this information.
What to Know:
- Rental/PSEO students will receive a "return slip" sent to their Normandale student email addresses several weeks the semester ends. This lists all materials that are required to be returned and the fee if they are not.
- Unreturned and/or damaged books will lead to fees placed on your eServices account, which could result in registration holds if they are not addressed within the allotted time.
- LATE RETURNS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
- We will only be accepting Spring 2026 rental and PSEO materials. No Exceptions.

- Anyone may return your rental materials on your behalf.
- You may also mail your returns at your own cost:

- Include your name, Student ID/Tech ID number, and contact information. If students do not provide their contact information when returning their textbooks, we will be unable to associate the returned books with their accounts.

Refunds and other Store Policies
Damage Policy
- All rental/PSEO course materials must be returned in resalable condition. Books with damage will incur damage or replacement fees depending on severity as determined by Textbook Depot employees.
- Books with any liquid damage will incur a replacement fee as this type of damage cannot be repaired.
- If you receive any used book and are concerned about being charged for damage from a previous user, please reach out to the Textbook Depot ASAP so a replacement may be issued if necessary.
- Types of damage include but are not limited to:
- Water/liquid damage of any kind,
- Torn pages,
- Torn or bent covers,
- Exessive writing and/or highlighting (entire pages/chapters highlighted, writing in margins which makes text difficult to read, etc.)
- Bent, torn, or otherwise broken bindings.
Non-Return Policy
- Unreturned books will lead to fees placed on your eServices account, which could result in registration holds if they are not addressed within the allotted time.
- Late payment fees are assessed if payment is not received within the allotted time.
- Rental or PSEO materials from any semesters other than the current semester cannot be accepted.
- PLEASE NOTE: exceptions to our return policies can only be granted for students with prior permission or extraordinary circumstances.

Orders will be held for 7 business days from the date of processing.
- Orders not picked up within 7 business days will be returned to the MN Textbook Center and refunded.
- We make every effort to fill your order as requested, but we reserve the right to make substitutions if your books are not available in the requested condition.
- This means if you select "used preferred” and a used book is not available at the time your order is filled, a new book will automatically be substituted, and vice versa.
- ***The dollar amount of your order WILL change if substitutions are made.***
- The cart total with substitutions is calculated using the new price for titles. Used prices will be applied at checkout if originally added to the cart and available when your order is processed.
- You will not be charged for your order until it has been processed. If there is an issue with the payment method you provided, your order will be cancelled and you will need to place it again.

Common reasons for an order cancellation include:
- The payment method entered was declined,
- Financial aid funds were not available at the time of ordering,
- You requested the cancellation,
- We noticed you had a duplicate order,
- PSEO Students: One or more items on your order were not required for a course.
- If you feel your order has been canceled in error, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
*All materials may only be returned for a refund if they are in their
original condition. Shrink-wrap must be intact and access code seals
must remain unbroken.*
Spring and Fall Semesters

Spring and Fall semester materials are returnable until the end of the
second week of classes.
- Materials purchased after the first two weeks are returnable for 7 business days from the order date.
- Materials for classes meeting two weeks or less are returnable within two days of purchase.
Late Start Classes

Late Start class materials purchased before the first day of class
are returnable for 7 business days from the first day of class.
- Materials purchased after the first day follow the standard 7-business-day return window.
Summer Sessions

Summer session materials are returnable until the end of the first
week of the session.
- Materials purchased after the first week are only returnable for 2 business days.
Return Methods
- In person at the Textbook Depot
- Please bring your original receipt or Student ID for a smooth return process.
- A Textbook Depot staff member will provide a return form that must be filled out to process the return.
- Refund will be processed by the MN Textbook Center within 2-3 business days.
- By mail to the MN Textbook Center
- A copy of your original receipt must be included in the package to process the return.
- Refund will be processed by the MN Textbook Center within 2-3 business days of receiving the return.

You may exchange or return non-textbook merchandise within 30 days for a
full refund,
based on the original form of payment.
- If you paid with a credit card, the debited amount will be returned to the credit card used. The original card must be presented at the register to process the return.
- Book charging or financial aid charges will be refunded to your Normandale student account.
- Please return merchandise in its original box or packaging.
